AK Collective was born on a road trip from Leamington, Ontario to Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Mother, Andrea Siemens Warkentin, and daughter, Kathe Warkentin Rasmussen, were sharing stories on a long car ride when Andrea shared the funniest story about being licked by one of her kindergarten students. The pair found the story so hilarious, they wanted to share it with the world. They began to write “Do Not Lick the Teacher” and decided to publish this work.

Both Andrea and Kathe are creative in many other ways too. After publishing their children’s book, they began to wonder “how can we share our other creative project?” …and AK Collective was BORN! Each artist created their own brand (Andrea, Warekendoodle Creations; Kathe, Amara Collection) to promote their passions.
